As far as I have red in forums, I have come to several possible causes of lack of power which might be related either to bad fuel supply or bad air supply: 1. Bad MAF sensor, so engine might not be able to calculate correct amount of air entering the combustion chambers; 2. Vacuum leak or bad DISA valve, allowing less air to enter the chambers

A bmw tech came to my house and ran the computer to tell me that the car was in immobiliser mode which can happen if the car sits for a while and the battery runs low or in some cases of people trying to steal the car. He recommended that if the car sits for a while to disconnect the battery to avoid this happening again.

If you killed the battery dont use the power seats and that bs if you expect to charge it, AC on and just drive, hopefully at daytime without headlights so you get maximum charging.. drive the car at hwy speeds for a good 30 minutes, to fully charge battery.
Battery was done on goodwill at BMW dealer ~3 yrs ago so I ASSUME they registered it. I honestly don't know what kind but it would be OE since Dealer put it in. This behavior seems to be consistent and has been going on for months with no change.
